#5KinMay Challenge 2022

Following the success of our 5K in May challenge last year, it has returned with even more ways for you to get involved!

This year we are challenging people to achieve 5000 (5K) of anything whilst helping No5 to raise £5,000. This target of £5,000 will directly fund 4 months of counselling for 5 young people and 20 mental health workshops delivered to groups of 30 in local schools.

One of our Young Ambassadors, Max, has already set the bar high by committing to walk and/or run 5K everyday for the month of May – you can hear more about his challenge on this BBC Radio Berkshire interview (go to 02:05:51)! Of course this may not be for everyone so we’ve come up with some other ideas that can be done throughout the month!

  • Read 5,000 pages (around 16-17 fiction books)
  • Walk 5,000 steps
  • Write a short 5,000 word story
  • Do 5,000 star jumps
  • Bake 5,000 cookies
  • Swim a 5K
  • Make 5,000 paper stars (see our tutorial here)

You are not limited to our ideas, you can do anything you can think of 5,000 times!

You don’t have to do this alone either, why not get your friends, family, co-workers, or any other group of people involved and contribute to a grand total of 5,000 ! Why not take baking 5,000 cookies between you and hold a bake sale twice a week for the month of May, baking 5,000 across the month?!

Don’t forget to set up your own JustGiving page, by clicking here, so people can support your challenge!

Update – 16/06/2022

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported our #5KinMay challenge! Our Young Ambassador, Max, and HM Staffing, a local recruitment company, all ran 5K everyday & raised a combined £440! This will allow us to deliver 2 mental health workshops for free, supporting 50 local young people!

If you want to get involved in any future fundraising challenges or have one of your own – please email!
