Time To Talk Day 2024

Time To Talk Day logo

Today is Time to Talk Day, set up by Mind and Rethink Mental Illness and in partnership with Co-Op, and it is the nations biggest mental health conversation!

The day is all about creating supportive communities by having conversations with family, friends, or colleagues about mental health. We all have mental health and by talking about it we can support ourselves and others.

Talking about mental health isn’t always easy and knowing how to start the conversation can be tricky, especially when most of us are asked ‘How are you?’ we respond with ‘fine’ or ‘good’. There are some resources below to help you get the conversation going!

Resources to help you get the conversation started

Tip: You don’t have to sit someone down and have a formal conversation to ask how they are! You can start the conversation during your normal interactions like when playing a video game online, chatting in between classes or at break times, or even when talking on the phone.

Finding Support

If you or someone you know needs support with their mental health, you can find help using the below resources:

  • Looking for Direction – a signposting website created by young people, for young people
  • Useful Links – a list of local and national organisations and charities covering different things you may need support with
  • Cost of Living Crisis Support – a blog detailing where you can find support locally if you are affected by the cost of living

Remember that it is okay to not be okay!

Get Involved

Your support through fundraising allows us to carry on supporting young people’s mental health.
