During the school holidays it can be long and sometimes quite boring! I have created a list of things below which can keep young people of all ages entertained!
ONE– Visit a National Trust park
One National Trust park close to Reading is Basildon Park. At Parks such as the National Trust, you could play a game of hide and seek with friends, go bug/Bird spotting or even have a relaxing picnic.
National Trust often offer Free Family Day Tickets during half-terms so be sure to keep an eye out!
TWO– Paint Some Pottery
Mad Hatters Pottery Café in Tilehurst offer pottery painting! You could make a new mug for yourself or even paint a gift for a friend.
THREE– Go Bowling
At Spinners in Central Reading they have a mini of course and a bowling alley. They also have a bar where you can order some drinks and food.
FOUR- Reading Winter Wonderland
In Reading Winter Wonderland (Christmas Period) they have ice rinks and rides it is good to go in solo or groups.
FIVE- Climbing
At Dinton Pastures they have a brand new indoor climbing centre, this is a great activity with friends, family or just yourself. They also have archery and lots of water sports available to-do as well.
SIX- Water Sports
A few places such as Wokingham Waterside Centre or Dinton Pastures Country Park in Reading have water sporting facility’s where you can rent or bring your own equipment.

SEVEN– Pub Quizzes
There are many venues around the Reading area that offer quiz nights across many themes and genres!
EIGHT– Live Music Nights
Many locations in Central Reading offer a nice atmosphere and live music nights which are great for socialising with your friends!
